“Exploring works that express doomed romance and the intense emotions that come with it, the MSO’s Forbidden Love concert at Hamer Hall presented a soaring tempest of anguish and ecstasy.”

“A glance at the programme for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra’s Wednesday matinee suggested one thing: light music. Yet the opposite – both darkness and heaviness – made its presence felt throughout.”
“This concert by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal under the direction of guest conductor Fabien Gabel was tailor-made to display the sonic splendors of this virtuoso ensemble, with three works from the early 20th century bracketing a Philip Glass piano concerto.”
Blossom Music Festival’s final concert praised as “the unexpected apogee of the season.”
Fabien Gabel will be the next Music Director of the Tonkünstler Orchestra beginning with the 2025/26 concert season.

When Mikko Franck became unable to lead the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France's season opening concert, Fabien stepped in to lead in his absence, conducting the orchestra in a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 as part of their back-to-school celebration. He shared the podium with Sofi Jeannin and Marc Desmons, who lead works by Bartók and Bianchi on the first half of the program.
Fabien received the prestigious designation from the French Ministry of Culture on December 18, 2020.
Fabien’s entire performance of works by Beethoven and Dubugnon, with Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec and guest soloist Valeriy Sokolov, is now available for streaming. This concert was originally captured on November 24, 2019, courtesy of Medici.tv.
This concert is available from March 29, 2020 and remains accessible for 30 days following the first broadcast.
